Specifically the area around where the outside wrap around portion of the muffler is welded around the lip where the tips go into them?

It's starting to happen to mine, and I'm pretty pissed- considering I paid a pretty penny for them..

Dinan mufflers right? I dont have an issue with mine. Washed the car friday and didnt notice any rust.

Im in TX though, no salt on the roads.

Yep. Dinan Black Diamond exhaust. Wonder what my warranty is on them? Looks like 2 years. I am almost certain now this is what is making my whining rattle under low RPMS now too... crapola. It starts happening around 10-15 minutes into driving, and that's about around the time the exhaust really gets "warmed up" I think. Gotta get back to Prestige BMW in Ramsey... at this point I'm almost tempted to put my stockers back on....

Yeah, the warranty is 2 years. Good luck with Dinans warranty process though. Ive heard it sucks. My mufflers are second hand, so it doesnt matter to me what happens. Ill slap the stockers on if anything.

See what they tell you though, 2 Gs and this shouldnt be happening.

Thanks man. Guess I'm about to find out! That's what I get for trying to stay somewhat in "warranty." Meh. Thankfully I held onto my stockers though, should the worst case scenario happen. Now I am worried, should anything else happen to my setup. Live and learn I guess. Wish me luck!
