pre cat o2 sensors-pretty involved
I searched forums, YouTube, other stuff to try to figure out how to change the pre cat o2 sensors myself. In case anyone else has such designs, it turns out that these are not accessible without actually removing the inner tie rod end. Maybe someone will say you can gain access if you removed the outer tie rod end, which would be easier since you could leave the boot alone also avoiding replacing the inner boot clamp, but I'm thinking not. Gosh, I really wanted to be able to tackle this on my own, but I'm afraid to screw up the steering. If anyone knows something I've missed please say so before I bring the thing to the shop....

You can get to it from underneath the car with a crow's foot and swivel. Once you get it broken loose unscrew it from up top. There's no need to remove the tie rod.
