330I tire question

Good morning everyone. I am looking for tires an I understand I have to have run flats on the car but where should I look online for the best deals? The lowest I came up with is 1200.00 any suggestions?

I have a 330i also and I made the choice to not have run flats. You do not have to have them. It's recommend because you do not have a spare tire. I didn't want to spend 1200 on tires either. Also the car rides better without run flats.

Got 4 Michelin pilot super sport for 750 from tirerack.com, non Rf.
I carry a bottle of slime and a tire inflator in the trunk and paid Aaa

I have also thought about not using run flats. But I was pretty nervous not doing so. I was told that using the slime can screw up the inside of the rim and render it unusable? Not sure how true that is. Have any of you guys had a flat and had to use the slime? I richer a bottle of that and a air pump is not going to cost me 600.00 lol.

I've used fix a flat on other cars with no problems getting a new tire put on later. Never heard that it messes up the rim. Your tpms sensor may get damaged but that won't cost you $600.00 either.

Meeni, how did you get pilot super sports for 750 at tirerack?

That was a promo in August, and I'm running 17 inchers.

I've used fix-a-flat in the past, didn't damage anything (not even the TPMS, but I have the old style that is more "passive"). I see how it could damage the TPMS or the valve stem, but I don't get exactly how it could damage the rim itself.

OP, if you are anywhere near Silver Spring, check out Radial Tire Co. For price, they usually rival TireRack and their service is excellent. And they also discount for BMWCCA members.

I personally have hankook v12 on my car, IMO their a great tire for the money...I did buy the BMW flat tire repair kit just in case..Fix a Flat is decent but shouldnt be left in their for long (the less time, the better) since it will usually will ruin the tire, the sensor, and wheel sometimes, plus it freeze's for the cooler climates

I'd definitely look at non-runflat options if I were you. I switched from runflats a little over a year ago and there is a world of difference in the handling.

I have gotten all my tires at Tire Rack as they seem to have the best prices and service. Also, you can run non-runflats on that car. It will make a huge difference in how the car rides and handles. Just pick up a mobility kit from BMW in case you do get a flat. Also, assuming you have BMW roadside assistance, that helps too.

I get mine from Tirerack always. Wait until there is a discount promo and get a set, like $70 off of Michelin set.

You don't need RFTs. I have PS2 RFT and although they are a huge improvement over Bridgestones I am not sold on RFT yet. PS2 or PSS is an excellent choice. PSS has hire tread wear. Just get a fix a flat and AAA and you are good to go! I am getting PSS in March. If you really want RFT get PS2.

The 330i has no sensor that can be damaged by slime or other such product.... Th car uses the tire rotation antilock sensors to determine if a tire isn't rolling very well and thus is flat.

I have a 330i sport I literally drove down the road driving around every manhole cover bump etc when I had run flats ... I then switched to standard tires and the ride is just a dream so much smoother best choice I ever made. Furthermore I saved five hundred plus by not getting run flats.... Which gave me enough to either activate the SOS service from BMW or well what I did was get tire insurance (from the people who sold me the tires) and a nice AAA membership.

I got the contis great tire

Best of luck but seriously do consider getting rid of the run flats best decision I ever made
