I have had this feature on my UK E90 since I bought it in September 2005.

I didn't even really get my car fully done till 9/1/06. But since it was built in Germany prior to 9/1/06, do I get screwed?

I was just driving the other day, and I got onto a major highway, and there was a huge traffic jam, and I thought about how nice it would have been to have the TMC...

Ok people...any new news on this issue??? I am taking my car in on 9/14 for servicing....oil change, voluntary emissions recall, and new CIP update (never been done it since I took delivery 9/16/05!!!), and a few cosmetic fixes.

I guess I will breach this topic with the SA @ Southbay BMW and see what kind of answer I get regarding the issue. I REALLY WANT THIS UPGRADE!

I spoke to my new Service Advisor about this feature and possible upgrade when I took my car in last thursday for service....they had no idea what I was talking about.

screwed? that´s a strong term.

There are lots of things that owners of 2004 5ers would like that 2005 5ers had. Models evolve. Sometimes there is backwards compatibility.

A retrofit is being studied but no information will be forthcoming until the summer. If available, it will require a new tuner, a Progman upgrade, and a new DVD purchase, at the very minimum.
