bmw won't replace my brakes under maintenance. pls advise

Hi all,
I have a 2007 335I with 68,000 miles still with original brakes. The brakes squeal but I sill have 5mm left and the dealer is refusing to do this under maintenance. I plan to call bmw north America and try to pursue them as my maintenance package expires in 2 weeks. Any advise to convince them to replace under maintenance would be appreciated. The dealer is telling new brakes are 10mm so I have 1/2 to go. They also confirmed the squealing and said it would be $1,700 to replace the brakes. Wtf I am still under cpo and extended maintenance ...

Thanks

....You've got a 2007 335i, so your free maintenance should have expired in 2011 or 50K, unless you bought an extended maintenance. CPO doesn't cover consumable parts, like brake rotors, pads, windshield wipers, belts, etc.

+1 above ^. If it is CPO, then no new brakes for you. What is wrong with brakes that squeal anyway? I've never understood why people get hung up on this; it doesn't mean the brakes are not working properly. Just have a shop remove the pads, clean the parts, and apply some pad grease to knock down the squealing.

As stated above..cpo also doesn't cover noise complaints or water leaks . Maint plan only covers replacement at 3mm or when stated due/recommended by the CBS data

When i bought the car i also bought the extended maintenance package which expires with the cpo.
I mean brakes are covered under the maintenance package i still have, so why they want me to pay for it? Does not sound right to me. Also is 5mm 1/2 life to go?

I could deal with the squeal but i have the extended maintenance that expires this month and the dealer is telling me to fix the squeal i need to replace the brakes. Since brakes should be cover under maintenance why should i pay? Obviously if i did not have the maintenance package i would just live with the squeal.

the brakes need a cleaning, nothing else. There still is plenty of pads left on all 4 corners to ensure they work properly. replacing them just because your asking them too is a huge waste of their time and yours, unless your willing to pay for it.

Im new to most of the BMW warranty and maintenance packages, but i have never heard of any manufacturer replacing consumable items likes tire or brake pads, unless they are defective and last only a few thousand miles. With 68xxx miles, they were used up and worked properly for that length of time. Just like tires they just need replacing every so often.
