Android and 6FL

If you have a android device and the 6fl option in your car (thus MULF, NOT combox) what's your experience with them talking to each other? I think some report their phones getting picked up as USB mass storage devices, so songs on (internal/external) storage can be played by the head unit. But presumably that means a pandora or an rdio type streaming app won't work via USB, only aux. and thus, the wheel track control won't work.

I ask specifically because I'm interested in potentially integrating a nexus 7 for nav and music, but the wheel buttons are important to me. I'll probably integrate an ioio or similar to CAN adapter to talk to the chassis can bus for deeper integration, but doing that for the wheel buttons is something I'd rather avoid.
