I called A plan (broker), and was impressed with their service and price. Most insurers wanted a Tracker on my 335d they located a discounted policy with Zurich that didnt require a tracking device and had v low excesses. The number is 01635 874646, quote 'BMWLand' for additional discount. Hope this helps, give them a try.

Take a look at confused.com, there are a few other search sites also which if you go to them all cover about 95% of the market. I wouldn't advise shopping on price alone though. My insurance with admiral was one of the cheapest on confused, privelege weren't even listed in the results however privelege:
i) were cheaper ii) Offered interest free payments iii) Covered all my extras inclusive more or less in the price (admiral wanted them listed, charged extra premium, then wouldn't pay out for them!) iv) Pay for a brand new car with the extras in first year (as far as I can tell) It pays to read the policy wordings - I did this a bit too late, after I'd taken out the Admiral policy so got hit with a small cancellation charge when I switched to privelege but was still cheaper and better cover!

Surprising, but BMW was cheapest for me as well. And it went down in my second year with them as well (OK one less vandalism claim to take into account - but still surprising).

So you are saying: Ignore confused - which will show you more or less the cheapest price (bung or no bung) to go with who insured you, because they were the cheapest for you!? 3 problems with that: i) As per my post above, if you do a few of the search engined you can cover about 95% of the market, ensuring you get the cheapest quote (who cares if they pay a bung if its cheaper) Ii) A company that's cheaper for you won't necessarily be cheaper for me (bmw were about 100 quid more for me than my insurer and they had worse policy wording) Iii) Shopping on price could be a mugs game, if you have to claim and you find your options aren't covered, or the excess is greater, or they don't give you a new car in first year, or they consider your 'options' as modifications and want premium for them etc etc By all means look for a good price but then compare the small print and don't assume a company is cheaper because it was for someone else or that ALL the cheapest and best policies are on confused (privelege wasn't, and worked out best for me).

Have you ever had a claim dealt with by BMW? Quote:

Or did you mean you were 'Confused'? ![]() Confused's advertising leads you to beleive they search all.....they don't, therefore they're lying, so will not get my business, or recomendation. I also insure the wife with BMW, on a non BMW. Maybe the fact that i have a clean licence, and reasonable post code helps, but until the man tries for himself, who knows? Policies can have loads of magic wording, until its tested, its worth nothing, like when you insist on a BMW repair centre, and they won't give you a courtesy car as a result...who wants a Micra anyway. Oh, Zurich private clients are very good as well ![]() |

My sister is with Zurich until Saturday, but they wouldn't quote on the new car as it's got sports suspension.

No because i) They were too expensive, ii) I haven't had any claims and iii) It isn't actually BMW, IIRC its someone else like UK Insurance PLC - the same company behind Tesco I believe and several others. Their policy wording was not as good as some other companies. I haven't had a claim so I don't know but as its a legally binding document I'm happy to stick by the wording of it.

We go to Admiral, Norwich Union Direct, More Th>n, Kwik-Fit and many more! Our site’s easy to use and it saves you time & money. Pretty clear to me, not claiming they search all at all in fact. You have to shop around is all I'm saying, your original post sounded like BMW was all things to all men and it ain't so.

Went round all the normal companies this year and BMW came out cheapest, so have moved to them.

I use (and have done so for the past 4 years) Liverpool Victoria insurance, a lot of BMW owners seem to use them. not the cheapest quote I had but have had to make two claims in last 4 years and their service in both cases was first class which is what counts for me. cheapest isn't always best where insurance is concerned. actually going from the 530i M-sport to the new 330i M-sport E92 has saved me £200 per year!!
