I broke mine in just about the same way (accelerating at around 30mph), broke it in the same exact spot, and I did not need to replace/repair anything on my diff.

It says release nut against direction of travel; however, when driving the car forward, the drive shaft rotates in the direction of the arrow in the picture. That seems backwards...

I agree, but I would say it is correct...I can let you tommorow since my driveshaft is coming off tommorow.

How did you guys break it that easily ??
Do you just hold the gas down at 3000rpm in 2nd gear and then smash it to the floor to get that instant thrust ? Or are you guys launching the car from a dig? Are you guys tuned or what? I didn't know it was that easy to snap the drive shafts. |

Snapped it from a roll around 30mph.
I got a new driveshaft installed last night and my differential is fine. It seems like only the people who had the repair done at a shop needed to have their diff replaced.

I ended up welding a 1/2 socket on to the wrench I made so I could attach a torque wrench.

I decided to finish it off by sandblasting and powdering coating it.
