So I'm in the process of purchasing a 335 in NY and bringing it to Atlanta. Do I need to have it emissions tested before I register it initially? Or can I register it and then take care of emissions on my birthday when renewals come up? Never bought a car private party before, so I'm not sure of procedure.

The car has AR catless downpipes, so I'm sure it will fail. Just wondering if I needed to buy the DPFix now or throw the stock DP's on. Thanks.

If you are bringing it from NY you have to get the test done before getting it registered. They will give you a copy of the results, and transmit electronically to the DMV also. Another thing to remember is you will be paying ad valorem taxes on the car at the time of registration, and registration is only good until your birthday, then you will have to pay the fees again. My sugestion is put the original cats back on and get tested, before you even try without them, I dont think it will pass at all. Good Luck!!

I picked up a dpfix. Car is at the shop right now getting vinyl wrapped and interior rework. Once I get it back, I'll put the dpfix on and give emissions a try. Thanks.

I assume this is a 2010 or earlier? N54? DPFix should work. Please post.

I have a 2011 N55...and we dont have a DPFix yet.

It's an '07 and I just got it back from the shop yesterday. They tried installing anti-foulers and that didn't work (I didn't search the forums before they installed them, they just had some lying around).

I just installed DPFix during lunch time. So far, the CEL hasn't tripped yet. It was almost immediate with the anti-foulers only. So I'm about to take it to get tested, hopefully readiness is set.

Well, the 5 o'clock setting doesn't work on my car. Tripped the CEL on the way to emissions testing. So turned to 6 and will try again in the morning.
