I also took the 55w ballast with the d2s bulbs (before i hooked it up to the wiring harness in my car) and just ran it off a battery. They worked. So thats when i thought maybe it needed a 55w ballast. but when i hooked it up to my car it just flickered. Even in the picture the projector is ran off a battery.

Its all good. Actually i just got done messing with them just for shits and giggles and they now work. I took the orginal plastic piece that held the halogen bulb and the power and ground wire off. Hope that makes sense but now they work.

My headlights are beat. My car has the adaptive xenons, and they are a damn fortune to replace. I wish I could buy those and just plug and play... but I know it doesn't work that way.
