Hey all, I recently traded in my 2008 328i for a 2011 335i. Now I'm back to the modding lol. I'm stationed at Eglin AFB near Destin.

Coming from Houston I had options of good shops for mods, but I feel I'm a lot limited here. Anyone know any good reputable shops around here? I'm looking to get coilovers installed soon and wheels/tires, exhaust, maybe a chip later down the road.

hey man, have you found a good shop for a suspension install? I'm at Hurlburt and looking to do coilovers too. also if you're looking for a good muffler shop, the guys at Top Gun Performance Muffler are pretty good. They did my performance exhaust.

I haven't heard of anything from anyone. Chances are I'm going to end up doing the install myself at the shop here at Eglin within the next couple of weeks. lol.

Man if I was mechanically inclined or just didn't have shoulder surgery recently, I'd give you a hand... I've heard good things about amazing automotive on Mary Esther cut off. How's the bmw scene on eglin?

Haha. I haven't seen much around here. I mean there's a few guys from BMW CCA but they're older folks. TBH I'm used to the younger crowd (20-30s) being from Houston where the scene is much, much bigger lol. I've heard of smaller meets here and there, but there doesn't seem to be a big import scene around here, mostly bikers and muscle/classics.

My coils should be coming in the next 1-2 weeks. Probably get them on sometime early March, I'll let you know how the install goes haha. Let me know if you decide to do yours by yourself (if your shoulder recovers that quick), I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Not too terribly sure how good they are but there is a place in Destin called Bulldog Motorsport's. It is owned and operated by two guys named Heath and Steve who are actually crew members on the TRG race team. I remember hearing that Steve was actually the teams "suspension expert". Just an option, let me know if you use them.

I'm the same with being used to the younger crowd. There's usually a meet every tuesdays at the Swamp on Okaloosa Island.... I'm out of my sling this week, but will still be a little limited with it. No exaggeration on my mechanical skills LOL, but if i can help in anyway, let me know. Would be a good learning experience too.

I've heard about the meet at the swamp, is it a big meet? How are the cops around here about the meets?

The one time I went, I thought it was a pretty decent sized turn out, but others there said that was one of their smaller nights. I've heard of it getting pretty packed. They say they don't have any issues with cops either.

yeah it's a pretty good mix. i would've hit it up tonight if we planned earlier lol. i'm always free after work so i'm down for next tuesday or whenever lol
