2010 335i Sedan Base Stereo

Hey guys.

I'm looking to purchase a package from MusicarNW.

I'd like to spend a $1000 now and another $1000 6 months from now. I've been reading a lot of your post here and Love the idea of plug and play...

I've got a 2010 335i sedan with base stereo and nav.

I do not want a sub in the trunk. I would like to replace front door speakers, add tweeter, and replace floor speaker. I listen a wide variety of music but I do enjoy the bass so probably not Jehnerts for floor speakers... right?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Which order do I start? amp, dsp, speakers? I don't really want to upgrade in future. I don't mind adding parts to my audio system.

Prices for my options would be great. I live in Southern California so unfortunately I can't get installed MusicarNW.

Give your inputs to VP Electricty
He will customize the system to your taste.
Above all listen to what he says as its spot on plus.
Its pretty easy to install if you are moderately competent with small tools and cars.

Also Ken can suggest installer in your area
if you live near a major city.
Also better to get the thing all at once so
that everything works together and your done.
Lots of conflicting statements from the OP.
Also the Jehnerts do a great job with laser accurate bass. Its audiophile bass not shake the block panel rattling look at me coming down the block kind.

I've got the MusicarNW kit. JL600/6, Morels, Jehnerts. Did the installation by myself in about 6 hours. Both sound and installation are better than I expected.

There's definitely no lack of bass in this system. If you tweak the gains, you can make the bass so overpowering as to kill the rest.

However - if you want to pull up to a stop light with all of the loose panels rattling, and have everyone look at you, this isn't the system.

The system is probably the most accurate system that I've had in a car (and was into the car audio stuff pretty heavy right after graduation).

Ken will steer you straight, so be honest about your wishes, and listen to his advice.

Bass actually hits the sweet spot before the doors, and there is no
lack of bass.
I have the Jehnerts with the Dotechs . I have read the Jehnerts
are more efficient than the Morels.

What would be the first thing you guys would do if you did this in stages? DSP, amp, speakers? which order?

Rather than doing it in stages, I would wait to do the whole thing as one unit (even if it means crappy sound for a longer time until you can do it right).

VP will tell you himself, going in stages won't give you what you're looking for - and it'll increase your costs (a package is less than parts).

What'll happen is that you'll go with the first stage (speakers, amp, or whatever), and it'll sound slightly better but still crappy. Then you'll think "I paid XXX dollars for this? And it still sounds like %&$#? I'll just stop here and cut my losses".

There are many good threads here listing what works. There are many reviews by various people from both coasts and in between. Read, learn, follow what works.

Otherwise, we'll see you back here soon with one of the threads: "I bought XYZ brand stuff, had it installed, and now it sounds like crap, steering wheel controls don't work, PDC gongs are crazy loud, and I have SOS errors..."

Learn from the experience of others, and then enjoy the tunes.

I have the same setup. I was going to re-code to Hi-Fi, get an amp, and replace speakers.

Not sure if I upgrade both sets of speakers or just the fronts. I read around here it would work best to try to get the OEM tweeter sails, add components up front, leave the rears alone, and amp the new components.

Just want clarity with distinct highs, mids, and lows. I figure I can add a sub or replace the under seat ones to get the lows.
