Sirius sat in Canada?
Hi guys,
My 335xi came wired for Sirius but the dealer says the option is not yet available for install. Does anyone know a way to get this done in Canada without going across the border? Is there anything special that the dealer does with this option or can I go to any shop and have them install a generic universal Sirius tuner? |

SIRIUS legally became available in Canada in December 2005. Maybe dealers not too used to it yet. Should be just like US Spec, if pre wired, just add receiver as dealer installed item.

You are right Sirius has been here awhile but I called two dealers and they both said that BMW Canada has not signed their agreement with Sirius yet so they are not allowed to sell it.
Is it just a matter of going to any after market place and getting it installed? Would the car need to be programmed to recognize such a unit? |

In the past I had seen some Canadians stop across the border and get it installed at BMW dealer in USA. But I also thought I saw Canadian cars with SIRIUS without having to resort to this method. Is it just because they did factory install? In any case is does require coding for entertainment system to recognize it so dealer has to get involved in one way or another.
