Hpfp or coil?

Just pulled home and gave the car a quick tap on the gas.

Got a code for p29d2 and cylinder 5 misfire. Pulled aside. Turned off car. Turned back on. Code went away and car drive normal again. Didn't want to gamble and try to floor it again.

Deciding if I should bring it to the dealer and have the pump covered. If its not covered I'd be paying them for a coil I could have done.

Yes, try swapping coils.

IF you are tuned have have over 25K miles on your sparkplugs they could be the problem too.

AS the spark plugs get some mileage the gap increases.

A cheap fix is re-gapping the plugs to spec. Spark Plug Gap BMW 335i .04 If I recall correctly.

this.

Just got tuned with FBO. Car had plugs done 30k ago...
ran great first few days.. starting last night, the car was giving some hesitation before building boost. Then this morning the whole misfire when I floor it. Started it up and drove it earlier and no more CEL's.. but still have the hesitiation. Ordering bosch plugs now and will swap the 5th coil pack to another cylinder while I'm at it.

swap it with 1 or 2 as they are less likely to misfire. sounds like you were due for plugs though so thats probably it. Doesn't hurt to swap 2 coils while you're in there though. Good luck!
