How do you access the factory amp?
I have L7 and I am planning on adding a 12" JL W3 and an Alpine Amp (from a previous car). I have an amp kit and a hi-low converter. I have never attempted anything like this before, and the DIY seems easy, but how do get to the factory amp? Do I need to remove the carpet padding stuff around the battery area, or is it located on the rear deck? Thanks guys.

Go to the trunk, it's located like the battery but on the left side.
Check my previous post for wiring http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52193 |

I am using the following DIY http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64582
I found it easier to access the wires near the rear left speaker, since it is difficult to stick my fingers near the amp. I untaped the stack of wires, and found the wires for the subs. According to the DIY, I also found a black wire that I was going to use for remote. Just for kicks, I decided to look for that black wire on the amp, but I don't see it there. Where is that black wire coming from?

Here is the pic of the black wire I found (see the red arrow), but I don't see it coming out of the amp. Is that the right one? Sorry for the cell phone quality pic.

Ended up running the remote all the way to the front cigarette lighter. All done and very loud! Thanks for your help.
