jb3 upgrade to jb4 g5 install help!

Well tried upgrading my jb3 (came with the purchase of my car uninstalled) to the jb4 g5. I used the diy to install and swap the wires etc. Sent pics to Terry and he said it all looks fine.

My problem arises after install I had a extremely long crank, finally started up and I had half cel. I emailed Terry and this is where my newbness on tunes comes in. He said I need a meter to check the wastegate wires for g5?? Someone please clarify what the hell that means or possibly what could be giving my this half cel.

The old JB3 harness may not be compatible with the G5 as some wires may be backwards, which is what Terry is referring to. On the old JB3 the polarity of the wires was not an issue but on the G5 its important that they are set correctly. Its most likely your wires are backward in your harness.

Iwas lucky enough that after I went from jb3 harness to jb4 g4 rewire I didn't have change any thing when I got my g5.

I think he means checking continuity, making sure the wires are going to the proper slot
Using a meter and touching opposite ends of same wire will give you reading, by doing so ur making sure they are in the right place
