Can You Get Music On Spotify onto USB Stick??
Ok, I realize that Spotify is like renting music online...but are there any tricks you can use to get your music from Spotify onto a USB stick.
Here is my dilemma., I havent bought any music on itunes since signing up for premium Spotify service a year ago...so most of the music I have added for past yr has only been on spottily. Now I am upgrading my car audio but have been using bluetooth streaming from my iphone for music in my car but this doesnt sound very good(especially since I have base stereo)....think it is well known that bluetooth degrades sound...also, if you use the usb and 3.5mm jack in center console with cable with ipod or iphone, I heard there are resistors between the usb/3.5mm jack and the headunit thus degrading sound.. But someone told me that if you just plug a usb stick into slot in center console this is the best sound quality your going to get. Is this true?. So this is the reason I want to get my music onto a USB stick but on itunes I only have 1/2 the songs I have on Spotify....hope this makes sense. What are car audiophiles using as their music source???...thx. |

Not possible. The Spotify music is protected with DRM and the car can't play it.
Might be possible if you can find some way to strip the DRM off, but that's not technically legal or easy. |

You can record the bitstream and save the files as MP3 or similar. There are several programs that will do this, others that will ID the tracks ... roughly comparable to transcribing vinyl to tape as we did in the old days. I think as long as the music is for your personal use only, moving it from your computer to your car fits under "fair use" legal doctrine. Then again, copyright lawyers tend to view such things in draconian fashion and would sugest you buy a book to read in your easy chair, and another to be read in the loo.
