Asian characters for song name display?
Any way you can upgrade the firmware or do something to show Korean characters for song names on your audio display?

I have 6FL option, no iDrive, no Nav. With my iPod with Korean songs in korean characters, I want it to display the song names on my audio display on the dash. Right now, those korean characters are just showing up as <BLANK>

What's the character set of your metadata? Is it Unicode (UTF-8 or UTF-16) or something more esoteric? I really have no idea if BMW would be more likely to support Japanese than Korean characters, or if it's just that your Korean is encoded in an older or regional character set and BMW likes a more international scheme.
I have the old dealer-installed MOST iPod adapter, but I can't imagine that it would be more functional than 6FL. Are you using the actual dock connector Y-cable or just USB? |

I don't have iDrive, but my Korean characters don't get displayed. Where ever there is a Korean character, it shows up blank. I tried MP3 CDs and also using iPod.

I wish the korean fonts showed. I hate having bunch of blanks and no idea what the song is.
Till a solution, why don't you just romanize your song titles~ |
