Do I need oil change @ 2600 Miles / 1 year

I've only driven 2500-2600 miles, but my last oil change was almost 12 months ago now.

Should I use the 12 month indicator to gauge my oil change or should I go by miles and wait it out a bit more?

Definitely change it. Been sitting for awhile....better yet..drive it more!

Yeah a lot of short trips. Don't drive the car much anymore.

Even if not driven change your oil at least every 6 months

Every six months with a long-life oil is waste of money..

Short trips will foul the oil quicker. If it never gets up to operating temp it can get contaminated with condensation and fuel from rich cold starts.

Oil becomes acidic after a year, change it.

Short trips never get the oil hot enough to out gas containments. If you are doing a lot of short trips try once a week to get the oil up to operating temp 240 or so for 1/2 an hour.
