HP Autowerks AST 4100 Coilover System 3-series 325i 328i 330i 335i X-Drive

Proven on the street and track, this system is unmatched by any other system on the market. HP Autowerk's unique AST dampers matched with our custom Swift springs offers superb street manners and unmatched cornering capabilities for the track. Offering separate external compression(Double Adjustable Only) and rebound adjusters, the dampers can be tuned from street comfort to a full race setup in a matter of minutes.

Not looking for that slammed look? Or just want to retain stock ride hight, but want better handling? We can customize the spring rate and height for you! All other off the shelf coilovers can't do that for you!

We use the highest quality motorsport springs sourced from Swift. Why Swift?

Swift's R & D team created material, called H5S.TW, which is stronger then regular silicon chrome material. Because of this material, we could make the spring wire thinner, and could wind the springs with fewer coils, which greatly decreased weight while dramatically increasing available stroke.

We also use thrust sheets where possible. Here is why:

Thrust sheets provide a variety of benefits to coilover systems. As a spring becomes compressed the coils attempt to distribute the energy by unwinding. This is called twisted force. The unwinding makes the spring rate irregular. By allowing the spring to smoothly rotate around the perch during compression, the spring rate will return to normal. Thrust sheets also help dampening and rebound of struts too. Thrust sheet?s bearing action allowing the rotation of a spring allow the load on the spring to be more evenly Distributed which reduces lateral shock shaft load. Increased lateral load on shock shafts cause a reduction in the struts ability to rely on valves for dampening force.*Coilover shown with optional helper/tender springs. Please call for specific applications.

*Camber plates are optional, but recommended for best handling performance

*We stock all popular rates of high quality Swift springs.

*Custom Swift spring length for customers looking for stock ride heights.

*Optional AST 5000 series dampers are available(5300 series shown above).

Applications for E36 and E46(including M3), E82, E90, E92, and E93.

Only HP Autowerk's AST and Swift combo comes with Swift thrust sheets and any Swift spring rates at no extra charge. That is a $150 value!

Seriously guys, I'll be getting these in a few weeks and even though the price sounds steep, you get what you pay for. If you want to talk dollars, you probably can sell these things a few years down the road for $800 being that they can be redone for about $600.

It's really not a bad investment if you can come up with the scratch.

As for Harold, he's A+, he has kept us xi guys in the loop while these are being made.

Only thing I wonder is if Im picking the right spring rates that are the best happy medium for the xi being that it weighs about 200lbs more up front.

Good luck

We should be shipping these kits out in a couple of weeks.

Over the holidays and Daytona AST were really at work and there is not much I can do to hurry them along. Companies usually go where the money is, but they are finally making some progress.

I have a few sets coming to me either this or the next week. All are spoken for so far. These are custom only at this time with a minimum of 4 weeks lead time.

If someone backs out, I will be sure to let you know. Shoot me an email at Harold@hpautowerks.com

These and the Pss9 aren't even really in the same category. One's just a spring/shock combo and no coilover adjustability(Not even sure if this is a big deal to you)

Also, the ASTs are a better made quality product but with a higher price tag of about $1000 over the Pss9 I think?

Price is post# 1. Two very different systems, AST is a monotube design using Swift springs, more suitable for track duty. Koni is twin tube geared towards day to day use.

Harold,

What the warranty on these? How often do these shocks need to be rebuilt?

The vast majority of my fellow AutoXers are saying that AST shocks get damaged really quickly, needing frequent rebuilds which AST does not cover. A few of them are rebuilding the shocks once every season.

Any truth to that?
