HELP! White chemical on paint won't come off.
Hey everyone! I had not cleaned my car in a while because it was winter and it snowed a lot out here. Obviously it was very dirty and had splash marks all over. I didn't think much of it until I took it to Waterway today to get it clean since the weather is much better. They cleaned the car and it was looking great until I saw the right side...There were white splash marks everywhere and the guy told me it wouldn't come off. (Look at the picture to get a better idea). He told me the only thing they could do is buff it at their detailing center. To the touch it feels like the chemical is corrosive and has started eating away at the paint. My guess is this liquid is either something they used to melt snow or some asshole dumped some chemical on the street and I managed to drive over it I guess I just have really bad luck. Any thoughts or ideas?

You can try a polish or even a rubbing compound on a small part to see if it will come off. If it does you could do the entire affected area with an orbital buffer to take it off.
