inpaCAN/Error Code help?
Hey all, I just bought the OBD-II DCAN something or the other reader for BMW's and I wanted to read an error code.
I've installed the required programs and have set the drivers and COM port port 2. So I plug in the cable via the PDF instructions, lights up red but when I run the inpaCAN software, it says Battery ON, Ignition ON but when I choose e90 and go to the read error message menu, it'll say something like reading.......... failed to connect. So, I tested the connection by turning my ignition off/on and the Ignition light went to OFF/ON respectively. I had no errors while installing and am using an old Windows XP laptop. |

What version of INPA do you use?
Are you trying to use another software from Software Standard tools? Try to read UIF in your car. Select your model in INPA and press Functional Jobs. Maybe you have to update your EDIABAS/ECU from daten files. |

so the error code I'm getting is IFH-0009 No Response from ControlUnit
and I've just read that it could be because I bought a cheap non-working cable because of the breadboard. I've got a blue breadboard and read that only the green breadboard cables that sell for $85-$100 I'll try and return this one and either buy that cable or try soldering pins 7+8 or buy the premade readers |

People recommend to buy the cables here: http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16 I'm not from USA so I can only suggest what people say here. |
