CIC retrofit from CCC \\ dension gateway 500?

Hey guys,
As a result of this forum, I'm now considering a CIC retrofit. I've got a list of parts which lemans330d had previously posted on another thread however, my question is... since I planned on buying the Dension Gateway 500 for iPod/iPhone playback and with an AVR module, TV / DVD playback - would I still need to buy this Dension kit or will retrofitting a CIC solve that problem??

I believe it might be a combox that might solve this issue but I do need some advice off you folks please!

Thanks

Sam

Sorry for the thread hijac but I've got a similar issue, I am yet to pick my car up but it's got pro cic and no bluetooth/USB so I'm looking to get Bluetooth in the car and connect my iPod.

Are the densions compatible with the cic nav? The dension site is very confusing and all the videos on YouTube show it working with the ccc nav.

I have recently purchased the Dension 500 and I have the older CCC nav. You do not need a Dension 500 to be able to playback songs from iPod / iPhone or even have video playback.

I believe, if you have the CIC nav, you need the addtional combox, which should give you the relevant inputs and compatibility to playback videos.

Lucky for you that you have the CIC set... not as big and expensive job as retrofitting it (not that I've done it) but having been in a car today it self with the CIC retrofit and seeing video playback etc.. it looked amazing!

Cheers mate, personally I'm not fussed with the apps and videos etc I just want to get the music playing through the idrive and have bluetooth for calls.

The combox looks good but as far as I'm aware I have none of the Bluetooth (mulf2???) stuff installed. But I don't have the car yet so I can't be sure.

It would have been a lot simpler if I had found a car that had Bluetooth and USB factory installed but the one I've found is ideal part from missing these options.

I've decided I'm NOT doing the CIC retrofit lol. I'm happy enough with the Dension, allows me to play all my songs off the USB / iPod / iPhone through iDrive and I have the option of video in the future. Who needs CIC LOL.
