Cattless DPs on XI
So I'm seriously contemplating on getting some VRSF cattless DPs for my XI but I am concerned about emissions. I already have a JB4 G5 which I believe would not need a DP fix so I was wondering if I would have any trouble passing since I will have to do it this year.
I've heard its a PITA to install the DP since its an XI so I wouldn't want to re-install the stock ones just to pass if the aftermarket ones were to fail.

just get o2 sims. I used BMS o2 sims in the past with my ultimate racing downpipes + JB3 and had no issues with emissions. all they do is test the car via obd port and if the cars computer says everything is good, its good. :0

Oh, nvm missed the part where you have jb4 g5 and dont need the o2 fix.. you should be fine. Just find a shop to install them for you, I think I paid like $150 three years ago.

I'm 95% sure you will need the DP fix to pass emissions. The JB4 allows your car to use the DP's efficiently but doesn't "trick" the computer into thinking that catts are installed. I may be mistaken though.

With the G5 board, I think the DP fix is built in.

I think you'll get through emissions, but the labor will be greater for our XIs than rwd. The sub frame needs dropped to get to the DPs.

It's not built in. The JB4 keeps the code from popping up, but you'll never pass readiness when they scan the OBD port. The DP Fix is separate and skews the voltages being read by the rear O2 sensors. It's basically a variable resistor. If you have a JB4, the DPFix takes no time to install. It takes more time to get the cowl off than to pop the wires in.
