minibus fuel consumption
I wonder if someone on here can help...
Im helping to organise a 3 peakes trip; taking a group of hill walkers to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon. What sort of fuel consumption can I expect from a diesel minibus with 12 people and hill walking gear for a 3 day trip. I need to work out approx fuel costs. Do BMW make minibuses ?

With all the hills you'll be climbing I'd work on the basis of at most 20mpg...

Good luck. I've organised this twice in the last three years but used people carriers/4x4's.
We never planned to get from Ben Nevis to Snowdon without a fuel stop, so we went Gretna Green. Fill up at Morrisons in Fort William and bingo. That was to do it in 24hours though! The roads near scafell - there is a lot of single track. Dont get anything too big. |

im planning doing 3 peaks this year too !
roads are very narrow down to scafell but you need something roomy for 12 people and all their gear, you be fine as long as you don't bump into someone coming the other way, there are a few places you can pull in to let someone past. |
