Tire Pressure Warning
Hello guys,
I had tire pressure warning came off 3 weeks ago on drive side rear tire and it was too cold that day and I put some air into it and the warning disappeared. Warning about same tire came off this evening. Do you guys think I have flat tire? I have RFTs. Can RFT be repaired? Any recommendations about tire shops in Queens? Thanks guys |

Fill it again and keep an eye on it. And look for any nails and stuff. They can be patched just like any tire if its within normal limits, but if you dorve on it at 0 or very low psi for any period I would not bother patching and just replace it. Once you drive on at 0 pressure you are relying on the sidewall structure to support the weight completely. Eventually the sidewall fails. If you ever get a flat again on the same tire the sidewall may not be strong enough to function as a RFT.

Many tire shops refuse to fix RFT.

Yes they can be repaired. It all depends on where the puncture is. I had a small nail in my tire for like a month or so, I just kept adding air when low pressure light would turn on. I ended up replacing all of my RFTs since I was due for new replacements anyways. I even bought one of the replacements that has been patched but still has 90% thread left. I v had it for 2 months no leaks or anything... Dont ask the dealership they will tell you to buy a new one.
