Halogen Day-time running lights - bulb failures
Hi Guys,
Since I have had my car I have enabled the DRL option. On a Halogen LCI car, this means both main beam and Angel Eye. However in that time (just under 1 year) I have now had 4 bulb failures! Just this morning another Main Beam bulb blew. This brings the total to: 3 Main Beam bulb failures and 1 Angel Eye bulb failure. This is more than I have ever had on any car. However, this is also the first car where the lights are on any time I drive. I just wanted to find out if anybody else is also running with "DRL" activated and if you are experiencing the same level of bulb failure? I am going to pick up some Philips X-treme vision bulbs, but don't fancy replacing them again within 6-7 months. |

I personally don't have the DRL activated - so cannot comment on the bulb life with that.
However, if it helps I ordered two sets of 48177022G from Eurocarparts and used their 25% discount codes. They are a good bulb and the equivalent (if not better) than the phillips X-treme. I got 4 bulbs (2 twin pack) delivered for under £30. Pop the code in the search box, as it no longer lists it by default. |
