What can Substitute Methanol

Been searching a bit on internet trying to find out if there is a substitute.

So far I have heard these come up several times , ethanol , isopropanol.

I know that in Sweden they have the stuff that they use for burners in camping gear to cook food. But the similar stuff in Norway dont have methanol in it.

We have the ethanol , isopropanol blend to make a similar product. (known by the same name, rødsprit)

I with my car , will me running a (US)93 octane + E85 , 50/50 mix
The aquamist kit will be to provide cooling and some octane boost if possible.

Anyone see any reason I should not use this ?

Ideal would be to log with pure methanol and water , 50/50 mix .
Then do the same logging with substitute and water , 50/50 mix .

My only question is , will the substitute blend with water ?

I could buy some of this and some destilled water and mix up a batch and see how it behaves.

I always use t-röd ethanol and battery water

Yeah , I think I will do too , since its the only easy access to something like this we have as an option. I can get methanol , but has to go thru a company , and it comes in 200 liters drums/barrels.

Hehe i bought meth as well for events but its too much of a hassle. Ethanol works fine and you can buy it at every gas station at least in sweden.

Most fuel line antifreeze is 100% methanol (heet etc.). Just make sure not to get the one that has glycol mixed in.

Denatured alcohol will also work. It is with the paint thinner in the hardware store. Only problem is it is $8-$10usd/gallon when meth can be had for under $4.

heet from AutoZone or any autoparts store , make sure you use the yellow bottles around 2 to 3 bucks each works great
