Touché, I've read and seen this situation happening but only on the 2013 is, where jb4 does nothing drastically. Anyone know why?

Think that guy should take the vid down before more people see it and think something's wrong with bms products without knowing the story

Well I know for a fact there's nothing wrong with bms seeing as not only I but 50% of members have or have had some sort of bms product. Im wondering if it has something to do with the 13 is. Just curious as to see if anyone else maybe had some insight. Jb4 unleashed my car as well as many others, so this is weird!

I have been going back and forth with Terry @ BMS testing every scenario possible -
from JB4 Integrated to now running JB4-G5 ISO on 18.HEX with 335is Tune. I've also done pulls and logs on 91, 93, 94/95 and 100 octane on MAP1,2,2/5 and 5. So, I don't want to hear about it being a "user error" or something with the install or the settings. It has more to do with the 335is and the IAT and elevation and the JB4-G5. We're going to try MAP6 as a last resort before pulling the box all together. |

I tried to PM this guy so he could take this rediculous video down because he was trying to update the firmware without the JB4 installed lol. Thats why he was getting those errors he was first posting about... I asked him why are you trying to update the firmware when the JB4 G5 isnt even installed??? I asked him where is it going to get power from to turn on? I walked him through step by step to install it PROPERLY and before turning the car on make sure you are on your right settings meaning G4, G5, G5 ISO, G5 ISO/BMS flash ect... and then upload new firmware. So hopefully he got it and takes this pointless video down.

Oh, Man, that's a highlarious story, boostaholic786. Good one.
How long did it take for you to think that one up? First of all, I have no idea who you are and have clearly NEVER spoken to you. If you do not have anything to add, then stay off the bandwagon. Secondly, I did not post this video here. This thread was not created by me. Lastly, Terry and I have been working very closely together on this. This is between me and my tuner at BMS. |

I posted this video on here, because i was curious as to why the jb4 didn't work on the IS. Good thing is Terry is helping the user out which is great! Ive heard about this on other 335is's and just wondered why, that's all. Didn't want to bash anyone, or create unnecessary drama...

Trust me, same here. When I got the JB4, I had a bunch of other 335is owners ask me about the JB4 for their vehicles too. I said, "Okay, I'll do a DRIVE DEMO and let you know." Unfortunately, the car didn't feel any faster with the JB4-G5 Integrated. So, I snipped the diodes and installed the 18.HEX under the 335is tune. It felt a little smoother, but not really any faster. Everyone said BS - it's faster. I said, "Well, maybe on a 335i or a fully modded 335is with downpipes, bigger turbos and a larger FMIC. But, not a bone stock 335is. BMW already tuned it. Quit comparing your 335i to a 335is. They are not the same vehicle. Here, I'll prove it to you...
I don't know why so many people are bashing the videos. If you compare them side by side you can see why I have a problem with the JB4. Use the tach, speedo and power poles as reference. They all start in the same place. Same spot on the track. Same temp. Same drive settings. Pause the video when you get to 60mph. Pause the video when you get to 80mph. Pause the video when you get to 100mph. Stop it when each of the power poles hit the edge of the window frame. Then, you tell me which setting is faster. I have done videos for Terry running every MAP on 91, 93, 94, 95 and 100 octane. 100 octane on MAP5 was actually the slowest. Explain that??? Oh, that's right - it's because I installed the box wrong, or was trying to upload the code when the power wasn't even on, or because I hit my left thumbnail with a hammer while I was working on my stairs this winter. Whatever... |
