Hi
I made contact with my Stealership and interestingly, notwithstanding my E90 having been manufactured during the March 2007/February 2011 dates, apparently not all cars were fitted with the defective part. There were runs of crap parts and it is only those that are being replaced. I guess this is a good thing because knowing my luck they would replace it and damage something else in the process. Has anyone else been given similar feedback... |

Mine's in getting done now..
I asked if they'd done many, and were told mine is about the 6th one through (Rolfe BMW - Canberra). They said they've had to cap it at 200 bookings due to parts, which didn't take long to fill. If you're going to get it done - get in early! |

I didn't get a letter either. Mine car is a 2009 e90 330d sport and was built in South Africa.
Maybe the SA plant used the non-fault part...

Got my letter a couple of weeks ago, I will get it done next time it is serviced. Funny thing is that I had to take it in to get the oil topped up the other day, and there was no mention. I would have at least expected a "Did you get your letter?" after they scanned the key.

I'm not sure, they may update the DME for some strange reason for adjusted power/voltage levels.
Just curious. |

Im no expert, but voltage will definitely stay the same from what I have read its just the battery terminal connections which require replacement, but you never know what else the techs my do I guess as you pointed out!

Can I just rock up or do I have to call them and book it in?
I received the letter about a month ago now lol. Edit: re-read the letter, gotta make an appointment! Hopefully I can fit my car in for today! Last edited by mazaa93; 04-30-2013 at 05:14 PM.. |

Most dealers have had a waiting list. Example I had to book mine in for two months later and finally got done last week.
