3 Series M Performance Double Spoke 313 19"
Hi
Thinking of purchaing a set of the 3 Series M Performance Double Spoke 313 19" with run flats, brand new. Looking at around $4,650 for the four. Any comment or observation on this being a good or dumb decision? I have 18" 193 M sports with yellow performance front brakes on at the minute (like those in the pic). Appreciate your thoughts. |

Get a set of reps and save big dollars.... visually cant tell the difference.
And as for the 'sticker' BMW Performance.... lol - why on earth would you want to pay a price premium for that? People want 313's on their cars because they look good... so reps and runflats is the go, and have an extra $1,500 in your back pocket to buy other goodies.

Do it. They look fantastic on E90s.

Also unless the reps are wheels designed to carry runflat tyres there is no point in mounting runflat tyres on non-runflat wheels. It won't be functional in its runflat properties. |

True, 0.00000000001% of the population who are BMW buffs probably could tell... but as for everyone else... no chance.

For 4k+ I would be looking at aftermarket wheels. You can get BBSs etc for that price. However, if you're adamant on getting the OEM 313s, try looking for a set from the US

As stated he wished to use RFT's, and as you may or may not be aware you cant use RFT's on conventional rims (Well you can but in the event of a flat the tyre wont be sufficiently secured to the rim thus causing damage rendering RFT's a waste of time on non oem rims anyway) Also with a 30 series profile tyre on the rear you don't wish to be running no name rims cast straight out of a chinese foundry, as the rims can easily crack. At the end of the day if you're on a budget, replicas may be enough to satisfy a few of us but personally I don't believe in diluting the bmw brand by adding cheap chinese items to the car. Then again maybe im just a blabbering fool, trying to justify why I bought oem 313's |

Aren't the 313's forged?

I bought replica 313 rims for my car and yes they did not look right and had a lot of trouble trying to get a roundel to fit, sold them in the end.
OEM wheels crack as well 313s and 225s. Spend the money and buy OEM or forged wheels.

Yes that's true oem rims can crack, along with forged wheels. When you're running 30 series rubber and hit the odd pot hole etc at speed something has gotta give. For the record I have seen high quality japanese forge rims crack also (as per my previous comment) |

Hi guys
Interesting comments and now I don't know what to do . They are very expensive I guess and may be there is nothing wrong with my 193 M Sports....18" ones are less likely to crack I understand. I have done a bit of research and cracking is a big problem for the 19" - imagine paying all that money and the buggers crack on you. Food for thought I guess.... |

I have 313 19's with 30 series run flats on my 2011 e93 msport. They look great, but I warn you the ride quality is harsh, I might even say disappointing.

Yes the 18's are less likely to crack, as the tyre gives the rim more protection with a bigger sidewall.
Having said that, my last car the 17" oem rim had a crack in it so I replaced it, then I bought a set of 19" advan rims and that got a crack in it after 4 years. The crack was repaired and held air for the 18 months or so and then the car was sold. At the end of the day its all a matter of perspective, its like asking should I go for an ecu upgrade for more power but the negatives being that you start using more fuel and having misfire issues etc My point is each mod has its pros and cons but I'm sure glad I went with a tune with the extra power it provides (even though it has caused a few issues) much like I'm happy to take the risk with running 19" rims as they look great Also I believe the 313's are an improved version of 225m rims, which were more prone to cracking. |

Too often I have seen great looking Asian manufactured wheels that look good when first bought and fitted on a car but deteriorate in less than a year with peeling paint or clear coat. I am sure they are not all like that but I am wary of them after previous experiences. |
