e90 tow bar installed - photos
Took the plunge and ordered a tow bar kit and dedicated electrics from PFJones.co.uk for $700 all up. Installed myself at no cost - very happy with the final result.
The installation is almost completely stealth, the tow bar gets detached when not in use and electrical connector is hidden by the bumper. |

The install itself took only 3-4 of hours, but I did spend a fair few hours preparing and working things out - the instructions seemed to be fairly convoluted so I took things slowly
The install was broken up into two fairly equal parts - the bumper removal and tow cross bar installation and the wiring of vehicle specific electrics Having done it once I reckon it could probably be done in 1-2 hours if I had to do it again I will be doing a road trip to Darwin at the start of next year (about 5000 km) so I will provide an update on how the set up performs on this fairly challenging drive. |
