G5 question(s)

So Im going to finally upgrade my G4 to an G5 and I have a few questions...
-If I upgrade all I will need to do is replace the current G4 control box with the new G5 box correct? The wiring should all be the same...? I do not plan on installing CPS wires.
-With my current mods (listed below) is there any benefit to cutting the diodes and going to the iso?
-I think Ive run into some issues with a cel coming on (throwing fuel pump codes during long pulls/high rpm) does the G5 help with these random pump codes? I run 4 gallons of e85 per fill up (93).
-Side note.... Anyone out there installed the in-line FP in the DIY section?

Thanks for any help!

I believe they are all being sold with the diodes already cut out if you select the ISO version. But aside from that it's a straight plug and play, the only difference is the gauge menus are different from the G4. I recently swapped to the G5 ISO and love it! On the G4 i was maxing out at 15 psi on 5 gallons of E85. Now im constantly hitting 18psi and holding strong at 16.

-It's not necessarily plug and play. You might have to switch 4 wires. Although I think that's the exception rather than the norm, especially if you never had jb3.

-The iso is the version that's going to be supported more going forward I believe so just stick with that.

-To me those don't sound like "random" fuel codes they sound like an unhappy fuel pump or something. Although g5 is more e85 capable so maybe they'll disappear.

- No idea!

My car handled e85 a lot better after going ISO. Before I was running 3 gallons and 4 gallons would throw codes, or ride a little rough at times. Now I can run 6 gallons with 100% confidence...

Thanks for the help! Im placing the order tonight... I has only hitting 16 (ish) psi using meth with a 40 add. That was also with 4 gallons of e85 so I hope I see some more boost with the G5. Probably going to do a plug change att that times as well. Any suggestions on plugs?... I hear oem is the way to go but I see a few people running NGK 1 step colder plugs.

I too recently upgraded to the G5 board. I bought my Jb4 back in November and it came with the G4 board, so i upgraded about two weeks ago.. and it made a HUGE difference. Holds boost ALOT more steady and I dont taper down nearly as much. For me it was an easy "unplug G4 brain, plug in G5 brain!" Earlier harnesses (from 2010) may need a few wires swapped to work with the G5, but if yours is not that old then you probably dont need to worry about switching wires...and the diodes no longer need to be cut, as isolated boost come standard for the G5 now. So just switch the brain and your ready to roll! fits perfectly into you same wiring harnasses

I have heard that OEM is the best way to go...but i have only replaced my plugs once since my purchase. Havent heard much about one step colder plugs but thats only if you ask me.
