08' 335xi coupe lease rates - TODAY.. opinions please

OK went to my local JMK dealership

2008 335xi
White
black leatherette
sport package with 17s
sirius radio
cold weather package.

12k mi/year and 36 mo lease

Price as optioned = $44970.00
residual .6

down payment/Initial payment fees:
ACQ fee: $775
GOVT fees: $450
Taxes: 1820
Doc Fee: 125
Sec Deposit: 700
1st months payment: 697
and w/e else

so it comes down to $4568 up front down

Then 35 more months of $697 a month.

Residual = $26892

Guy wouldn't budge off MSRP of the $44970 says car is too hot to discount and these are the current rates.

What does everyone think??

I think it's way too high.
My monthly lease payments for my 2007.5 Coupe is not much more than that, but my drive-off (including first months payment and all taxes, and fees) was $2000.
My car's MSRP was just under $48K

I only had to contact 6 via email before they were down to $1800 off list last Oct. Maybe it's one of those things, right now the '08's are high. Wait just 1 mo. (wow can't believe it's been 1 year), and seriously, why would an '08 have less of a discount than an '07 one year ago? I think discounts grow the rest of the year as you'd take delivery of a coupe heading into the winter.

its awd though (winter time).. think that will matter. I am just going to call diff dealers give them the options/color I want and ask for their best drive off price IE: under 4500) and how much under MSRP they can come..

I haven't shopped for a year, so maybe everything has changed esp. with the Xi now available, but I think the strategy is still the same. Enter your zip code or heck, 10017, into edmunds.com. Get a handful of quotes, and then call them. Then, I'd say your objective is to buy it as close to home as possible (picture picking it up, having to go for service, etc.). If it's JMK, then go to them last after you've talked to others. I believe within reason, every dealer has the ability to compete/match one another. gl

p.s. my quotes ranged from 1100 to 1800 off a e92 335 last Oct. I wound up with 1700 off because the 1800 email came the day after I already agreed and got a production number.

I think you should get the 18" wheels and the 155mph limiter... otherwise you probably wont get an oil cooler (like the sedans without 155 and 18's)
