JB4 G5 with map 0 at dealership

My 08 335i is out of factory warranty. But I have the 3rd party extended warranty which I can bring my car to dealership for repairs.

I have installed the JB4 G5 on my car, my question is , if I need any repair work done by the dealer. If I set my JB4 to map 0 before I bring it in, does the dealer really care if I have a tune or not since the 3rd party is going to pick up the reapir bill?

If the repair require the dealer to upgrade the ECU software, with JB4 on map 0, will it be OK?

Well if they open the DME cover they'll obviously see what's going on...i'd just pull it out to be safe.

That's exactly my question. Even the dealer find out the JB4, do they really cares since BMW is not paying for any repair bill. If I just go in for a AC compressor RR job, I really do not want to waste my time removing the JB4 for that.

I can't say with certainty how your specific dealer handles 3rd party warranty claims, but personally i'd say just remove it man. Takes 15 minutes to avoid a serious potential headache. My 2C.

Dont worry. I also have a third party warranty and had stuff replaced at the BMW dealer. No problems.

I guess map 0 on piggies doesn't interfere with obd scanning? That's why I like Cobb...don't have to take my engine bay apart every time I need service.

Depends on dealer but they shouldn't care if you have a tune if you are paying out of pocket for service.

if its not BMWs dime on the repair, I dont think they will care. only reason they will ask to remove it is if its interfering with the diagnoses.

It's Discount Auto Warranty. Additional 5year/100K miles extended warranty, fully transferable.
