Question Re Front Coil Insulator & Bump Stops
So I'm replacing my front brake pads this morning and I see this. I believe its called a front coil insulator, or boot cover or dust shield. I'm not quite sure. Considering that I will be installing Koni FSD's in a couple of weeks, is it necessary to replace it or can I do without it?
Additionally, I want to order some bump stops. The research on the board leads me to believe I will need E36 M3 for the front and E85 Z4 for the rear. Can anyone confirm this? Also, where can I order these from? Thanks in advance

Are you going with lowering springs or staying stock? If stock you don't need the other bumpstops (they are shorter for use with lowering springs), but you may want new OEM stops. New dust boots wouldn't hurt.

Sorry, should've mentioned that in my original post. I'm getting Koni FSD's with Eibach Pro-kit. Are E36 M3 for the front and E85 Z4 for the rear the right ones for a 330XI? Do you know where I can order them from?

Thanks, I noticed several discussions about the bust stops, that's how I got E36 M3 for the front and E85 Z4 for the rear. However, the discussions were primarily for 335's. I wasn't 100% certain if they would fit a 330.
Thanks again.

If I were you, get the new dust boots.
Trust me, they are there to serve its purpose. Getting dust between the shock, can really damage the shock in the long run. If you don't want to pay for new boots, then take them out. Dump them in a tub of oil, clean em up and make sure they are strechy again.

Something seems off, I ordered the bump stops from FCPEuro.com and received this, the white one is the E46 Z4 (when I select E85 Z4 this is what I get) the orange one is the E36 M3.
