COTA Event

so today was day 1 of my 3 day event at COTA. I had my ups and downs.

I had recently installed new rotors and pads. There was an issue with me RF pad not seating corrcetly. The second lap of the first session I had to pull off due to shuddering. During the break I pulled off the caliper and reset the pads.

The second session the brakes improved. Ane the third session we were up and running.

My fourth session, I asked Seth Thomas of the Bimmerworld Racing team to ride with me.

The track is amazing. The surface is perfect. Wathcing videos didn't really prepare me for the elevation changes and technical skills necessary. The s'es are very tricky.

I think the belt would be hard to source and you have to pull the radiator to get to it. A bigger job than I can handle. I am towing the car home in the am. Ran all day with a boost leak code too, but that was something I could live with.

Here is my best lap from yesterday. The car was running all day with a CEL for P30FF, or a boost leak. Not full limp mode but reduced boost. Still had COBB STG I Sport (91) installed but felt pretty poor on power.

Slight NSFW for language after turn 12, about 1:48- (I comment on the FGT's early braking....LOL)

Wow that track is just amazing. Nice drive too your time was pretty good. I just watched the Rolex Sports Car Series race, and the GX class was lapping around 2:35 so 2:51 is pretty good for a street car.

Now can you imagine doing a 1:35 lap like Vettle did in November?
