Procede installed, code help needed.

I just bought a brand new procede rev3 v5 for my 2007 e92 335i 6pd w/ ets intake only and exhaust flapper unplugged (valves cleaned 2k ago and new plugs 10k ago, dealer replaced fuel pump in 2008). I unplugged the battery, installed the ecu, reconnected the battery and everything went smooth. The car started right up and idled fine for 10 min. I shut the car down and restarted it to have the half engine light pop on. I shut the car down again and restarted it and the service engine soon and half engine lights came on. I restarted it once more and all lights were off. I took the car out and drove it around on map 1 with auto tune on. It felt good and gradually got faster. During one pull the half engine light came on. I returned home and hooked up my laptop to the procede and watched the dme codes cycle by on top right of the user interface screen. It read the following codes:

3100 - 12544

2F6C - 12140

2A80 - 10880

2A85 - 10885

Anytime restarting the car the half engine light automatically pops up or in 2 cases the car failed to start, the car cranks and starts roughly. When i clear the codes sometimes the car will start fine, others it will automatically throw a code on start up with t he half engine symobl.

I am aware that the codes are for a boost preassure fault, exhaust flapper and the intake and exhaust vanos. Although i am unsure why my vanos would go bad only when i put a tune on and never threw a code for them before it. I sent all of this info to vishnu and i am waiting on a response..

Also everytime i start the car the digital screen flashes solid orange or half red and half orange and then returns to normal dispaly.

Update: Post #21

If I'm not mistaken, the vanos was recalled recently? you may need it replaced under bmw recall. I would remove procede, do some research, then if applicable, go into dealership.

EDIT: THIS IS WRONG INFO. DO NOT LISTEN. - maxwell600

Can the procede cause these codes? They popped on the second time starting up. Or does the tune change some settings that caused the solenoids to stick or something due to their age (53k) I'm trying to prevent buying new solenoids to find out the code is still there and it is tune related.

Unplug the procede and start the car. If the codes persist then clearly it's the vehicle.

You can just unplug the procede box without undoing the rest of the harness to the dme?

no you have to remove it completely. do what i suggested first.
its unlikely both vanos are throwing codes at the same time.

I will try that whenever it stops raining here in ny. Also after the first round of code throwing and clearing the car ran fine, did multiple pulls and it felt great, after about 7-8 pulls the codes came back and now they are impossible to get to go away. Ill clear them and as soon as I start the car it will throw them.

Follow the directions in the read me file of the maps/firmware and reload the maps/firmware. Also be sure to clear all the adaptions also. Then go from there...

Soo quick to jump... I appreciate the help, but I've been at that thing called work all day. Not to mention its pouring outside. I don't have a garage nor do i make my hour plus commute in the 335i, especially in the rain. So when I get to trying your suggestions ill report back to update all who have helped.

the BEST Thing to do is to pick up the phone and call Vishnu. they are really great and will professionally help you debug this.

I had issues with codes too when I put mine in. proper firmware, matching the right rev and the proper map solved mine.

Chances are you did everything ok hardware wise.

Call them right now.

OP, i would double check the install first, be sure all sub connectors are facing the correct direction, if the problem persists then reload fimware and maps, stay connected and run a short datalog so we can get a better idea of whats going on.

I have news, first thank you all for your help in this situation. Second a big thank you to Robert for his customer support. I spoke with him yesterday and determined i had my power wire in the incorrect pin because i was running the 2 step system and not the standard one. Also and most likely the reason for the codes, i needed to do an adaptation reset. After performing the reset everything was great and the car increased power just as it should. I re-started the car many times and no codes were found.

Thanks for the update, it's nice to know it was just a simple wire swap.
