Custom Dual K&N Apollo Closed Intake System

Hi everyone,

Lately I've been tracking my car and found it being weak after going hard for two sessions when the weather is nice and hot. So, I decided to do some improvements to my intake.

The intake system I had was AFE DCI which is known to heat soak. I looked over quite a few posts and found everyone doing the Mr.5 intake, but I don't have a tool to cut a hole on the stock intake. After looking posts to posts for alternatives, I found someone talking about doing two K&N Apollo intakes. However, I can't find anyone who has already done it, so I figure I should give it a try. Also, I got a fairly good deal for these intakes.

These are what you need:
- K&N Apollo X 2
- Hose Clamp X 4
- 2.25" Aluminum Pipe (about 4-6" long, cut in half for both sides)
- 2.75" to 2.25" Reducing Silicone Hose X 2

It's very simple like BMS DCI. Just that you will have to route the piping to where you think you will get the most cold air. For me, I have a M3 front with intake duct, so I have one routed to that and another routed to the stock one with scoops.

I don't have the data now, but the exhaust seem to have a louder sound just like when I upgraded my intercooler. Now, my setup might not look good, but I believe they should be functional.

I actually thought about doing the same thing. but with only the bumper duct. Any noticeable difference in the temp?
