Question Regarding Air Ducting

Hey Guys,

For the past three months I have been throwing 30FF whenever I punch it and its humid outside. This weekend I finally got around to testing the air system for leaks. Before I even started I took the engine splash guard off and noticed that the hot side of the air ducting before the intercooler was not locked it. I got it locked back in and the cars running great again. The reason I am posting is that the hot side ducting was covered in a grease that had a silver shimmer to it. I wish I took a picture before I put the splash guard back on, but I did not... I'm wondering if this is normal from the exhaust? I have no noticed any significant loss in any fluids, so I don't believe I have a leak besides that air leak. Does anyone have any idea if this is normal or if you think I have an issue elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for any help!
