My friend who owns the S4 also admits that the Logic 7 is better than his B&O... If you look at one of the previous post a members says that this is basically an absurd statement. Now we have two B&O owners that admit that they prefer L7

The L7 is definitely an awesome system, I guess everyone has different preferences but I did like the high ranges a lot better on the B&Os. The tweeters they make are world-class. It all comes down to music preference and settings. I think someone who enjoys a deeper base would prefer the L7 whereas someone who looks for clarity in their music would prefer the B&O.

Just to clarify, The B&O in my mind falls a little short on expectation. My wife and I both have MY 2011 cars...I received delivery of mine a month before she got her Q5. Upgrading the sound has always been something I've opted for in cars. She went from a Volvo to Audi, but the premium sound in her 2007 Volvo, I must say, was even better than the B&O--just being honest. I'm not a basher of Audi (I own one), but being able to compare the systems side by side is all you need to do in order to be convinced. The B&O still sounds good, but I think it could be better. As was mentioned earlier, the H&K far outperforms in the bass ranges. My wife and I listen to a very eclectic range of music and I've played all on both (U2, VH, Bocelli, Adele, J Mayer, etc.) and the results (personal results of course) are that the H&K sounds better.
I have a goof off day on Thursday--taking the wife's car to get serviced--and I intend to sneak a peek at an S5. I'm interested to see if the B&O in a coupe sounds any different. Fortunately, all I have to do is swap the SD card from her car--that is something that I like about the Audi MMI. |

Here's my take.
Logic7 = fuck yes. I'm not an audiophile by any means but... My first car had everything rockford fosgate, rf subs, rf amps. Second car had everything focal, id subs and precision amps. Third car had bmw standard system. Fourth car had bmw professional system. Fifth car had mb quartz everything, jl subs, jl amps. Now my car has logic 7 -- bar none beats out anything. |

I specifically wanted the HK L7 system; my home amp is also HK and has L7.. I like it. That being said, I REALLY wish the system supported DVD Audio. I had it in my TL and I enjoyed it.

The logic 7 is awesome once you finally get the equalizer configured properly for the type of music you listen to. If you search Google, there are several forums on how to adjust the equalizer, this is an absolute must.
Was very unimpressed with L7 when I purchased my car, and of course the settings were all set to 0s as factory default. A year later I got the equalizer figured out, and the sound is bangin. |

I love the L7 system. Crystal clear and the bass response is great.
For those saying the B&O systems in Audis aren't that good, maybe you need to play around with the settings a bit more? I personally have not heard the system but from what I've read, it should be far superior to the L7. |

Yeah, I'm going to weigh in. While I like the L7 system, the B&O system in my wife's Q7 is much better after properly calibrating both systems.

My wife, a complete non-audiophile, noticed the Logic 7 systems superior sound (we auditioned before ordering the car). Pretty doggone good for a factory system. Certainly better than Bose, the greatest audio scam ever perpetrated. Now the Lexus Mark Levinson systems? Sweet! But they're a bit pricier than our humble H-K system.

I just purchased a 2011 328i with the hi-fi audio, standard 7 speaker system, and want to upgrade to the HK system. Has anyone upgraded post-build? I'm curious what the cost was, and about any complications there were if any?

Even my wife (not an audiophile by any stretch) noticed the quality of the HK sound upgrade. Pretty doggone good and better than a number of factory premium systems (ie: Bose, the most respected name in self-promotion). But I don't think bass that shakes your filings loose is the hallmark of ultimate sound. Best factory option? Lexus Mark Levinson. Bur Bmw's upgrade ain't too shabby.
