CODE 29E1fuel mixture control 2?

29E1 fuel mixture control 2? Is that telling me that the #2 injector is bad? Or........ Just did the walbro pump I have resolved all issues with that pumped 8gal of e85 and now I'm getting this code and backfiring but only on WOT. It drives normal and even at highway speeds of 100mph she drives good. But if I mash it she backfires!

I get this code anytime I use e85,100 octane or any type of fuel additive
After I go through a couple normal tanks I clear it and it doesn't come back

Not sure if that helps you at all

This doesnt help much but i also get it from time to time with e85. Ethanol always upsets the fueling sensors, even when the tune accounts for it and the car logs great.

Makes sense I did dump a lot e85 this time. I do have the cobb and backend flash from Terry just have install it. It should take care of the problem....right?

@enrita I get this from time to time despite my car running great on E40 protune (Jake can confirm this). It will even say lean condition when my AFRs are rock solid flat where they should be. I'm thinking it's a sensor? It did appear to start after I ran 50% E85 back on PROcede late last summer. It's really weird, sometimes it will come up with a CEL and sometimes it won't. Don't even have to be pushing car. Can happen with around-town driving. Sub'd...keep me posted if you figure it out, OP!

It just started happening car runs like poop if pushed. I did replace my Lpfp sensor a few weeks ago and walbro also seems to be connected. I'm about to install Terry's flash and see if it takes care of it. I'll report back.

The only time ive gotten this code was cruising around under light load, its never accompanied a misfire, and has always gone away when cleared. WOT logs have never shown trim or AFR problems, I see AFRs in the low 12s just about every time at peak boost. Just for context..

if i go WOT i have some backfiring other than that car runs great! Haven't logged yet but i will as soon as I download the cobb and install the backend flash. If i clear the code it comes back so we'll see what happens after this!

it backfires, like loud pops out of the exhaust? just want to make sure you didn't mean misfiring

just fyi with these codes my car always ran totally fine...no issues like this so I'm not sure they're related or at least the origin of that code might be different in your case

So you're running a half tank of E85 without altering the fuel scaler tables? If so, I'm not too surprised you're getting fuel trim faults and have shitty performance. It's probably going very lean an WOT, and I'd avoid doing any hard pulls until you get that handled.

When you add E85 to regular pump gas, it lowers the stoich AFR value -- meaning it takes more fuel to meet a certain lambda value (ethanol has a stoich value of 9:1). The fuel trims in the stock program/tune will compensate some, but 50% ethanol is pushing it.

EDIT: see it looks like you got it handled. I'm assuming Terry alters the fuel scaler tables on his flash.
