How come no one has done a P&P job on the heads?
I've noticed seen buying my 335i and getting on this site that from what I can tell no one has taken off the heads and done a mild port job.
Or what about a better intake manifold? I would imagine these two things would've been done awhile ago since this engine is going on what 7yrs old? I don't know what kind of gains on these motors but a P&P on my vette got me 25lbs of torque down low and 18rwhp up top. So on a TT 3.0 Id hope to see atleast the same if not a lot more.

On a turbo motor it's usually one of the last things to fool with. Unless you are going to raise the redline significantly (which usually means an engine build at the same time) there's a lot more to be gained with bigger turbos and more boost than with breathing a little better at the top end of the rev range.
If you look at the dyno plot for the NA version of the motor it breathes fine for the stock redline. HP peak is at close to 6500rpm. |

The heads on these cars are restrictive at high power levels, but porting is relatively expensive compared to the easy/cheaper gains from FBO and tune. I'd consider P+P as the next step after upgraded turbos.
