Removed oil cooler vent, any problems?
So my tires were rubbing on the vent, I removed the oil cooler vent and instead of rubbing at full turn to the left, I now have another 2inches of room.
I put a mesh grille over it to protect it from large rocks, but should I be worried about anything else? |

The idea to remove the vent came from other members who have done it, but I just wanted to double check to make sure i dont screw anything up.
I am pretty happy with my wheel/tire setup right now so I don't plan on changing it. |

The screen should prevent damage, but - unlike the louvers -- may let fine grit through that in time could clog up the cooler and affect its efficiency.
However, so long as you clean it out periodically (as should be done for all the heat exchangers), you should be fine. Neil |

I googled it and apparently people heat it up till it gets super hot, then they push it forward with an object, then they spray water on to it to cool it, then the liner will harden into the new position.
I will give that a try, i never knew the proper procedures for it but now i do. |
