Headlight washer flew off!
Hi,
I used the washers today & the headlight washer & a valve flew off! Luckily I was stationary! My car was in for repair (bumper scuff), so the garage couldn't have put it back together properly - not sure how, as it was pushed in!? My question is, how does the washer lock into place? Cheers Last edited by jammy78; 06-27-2013 at 11:58 AM.. |

Not seen this before - although most who suffer this problem don't get the opportunity to recover the remnants..........of the effects of cold winters nights freezing the washer fluid and blowing off the washer jet. A common problem and only solved by replacing the jet. At least you didn't lose the painted jet cover!

I think this requires a complete nozzle - not cheap. Same happened to me. I removed the fuse.

Both of mine popped out and went missing, BMW quoted me £380 to supply and fit!!! Shocking price but I have no other choice as my MOT runs out tomorrow and that is an instant fail. |

Luckily these nozzles just click back in... the body repairers did it for me (it was their fault) today!
So it sounds like if that nossle (in my pic) had broke or gone missing, you'll have to replace the whole unit! |

From what people are saying - the part in the picture you can't replace without buying a new unit! |

Having a similar issue myself. The place I go to are asking for £200 odd to replace it all and paint new flaps. Rather just disconnect the whole system. This new MOT thing is a pain.

And £15 for a painted flap each side...

I couldn't believe it when they got back to me with the price. It seems to be a common problem with bmw owners!
