So while installing my charge pipe, the nipple on the throttle body snapped. How can I fix this?

Is the nipple on the throttle body or intake? Is it the diverter valve nipple?

You need to either:

1) Buy a new Intake Manifold.
2) Drill out and JB weld a new brass nipple in it's place.

Not sure what experience E90Company has at repairing this, but I do first hand. No need for a brass nipple considering it came as plastic from the factory. Buy plastic vacuum line connector sold at most auto part stores (cost $2.79). Make sure when you drill you start with the smallest bit and work up until hole is the correct size for the smallest connector. Put connector in hole of intake with crazy glue on it- let dry. Then put vacuum line back on once completely dry. Hope this helps!

OP, a brass nipple is a lot stronger than plastic. No reason to use plastic again, because it can/will break just as easily as stock. If you are going through the work to do this, use the brass. It's recommended to drill it out with a 11/32 bit as per @Robc1976 DIY here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=820718.

I recommend you do this rather than buying a new IM. I'd also recommend you use JBWeld as per the DIY, because it's stronger than glue and will provide a better seal for an area that experiences boost pressure.

LOL You know nothing other than what you read. This is coming from someone who can't even install his own DCI. People only believe you half the time because you have so many damn posts. You comment on everything like you are some kind of authority. My info came from BMW- not a member on here. The plastic connector combined with the crazy glue forms a weld.

You are better off joining plastic to plastic... I would use quick-set epoxy meant for plastics. I've made quite a few "repairs" like this back when I was a auto tech, you'll be fine!

No need to get your jimmies all rustled. If you want to use plastic, go ahead and do so, I hope it doesn't break for you. Robc1976, E90Company, and I, have taken the brass road and we have no regrets. Personally, I feel like my brass fitting is much stronger than factory, or any other plastic/glue repair.

What's with the harsh comment? That's not needed at all. If plastic works for you by all means use it; brass worked out for me. We are all simply giving advice to the OP. I respect your opinion, you should do the same.
