So I just picked the car up after having the DP's and FMIC installed. In all fairness I haven't driven it too much but here are my initial thoughts.
- it's very very loud combined with my BMW PE, I'd caution those as I'm erring on the side of way too loud. Likely droning to occur
- noticeably more vibration, especially at idle but not while driving. Normal?
- no noticeable power gains or throttle response ;( DP's.
- once I have a thorough highway drive I'll have a better idea of what the FMIC has done.... If anything

At this point, in all honesty, I'm not thrilled considering the roughly $1700 bill to buy and install. Hopefully more driving will change my mind.

What tune are you running?

If your exhaust / downpipes are rattling / vibrating then they are not installed properly. Most likely not rotated to provide clearance to each-other or 02 sensors, which are rattling.

Thanks Mike. I'm taking the car back for a second look as the cabin is shaking pretty bad.

I am currently running the AutoLogic performance ECU flash.

fmic isn't really a power upgrade, it's just helps with cooling and keeping the power when you're modded and downpipes are probably only good for a few hp without a tune. i'm sure if you got the cobb or jb4 and the appropriate tune was loaded for all your mods you'll probably notice a significant difference, i'd think. wouldn't that be good for ~380rwhp? that's over 100 hp at the wheels difference.

If your tune does not support DPs or FMIC in terms of mapping the difference won't be great. I am not really familiar with the AutoLogic tune as its not common and a fringe product, but with the JB4 and switching to map2 you would see VERY significant gains.

I would ditch that tune and get either JB4 or COBB, or if you want to stick with it make sure its mapped and tuned for your mods.

map 2 is 93 octane, right? any idea of any canadians, specifically western canada, are running that on pump gas alone without any issues? we have chevron 94 but i'm hearing that it isn't even as good as the 92 just across the border.

I run Petro 94 in my car (Ontario) and the car loves it.

I have a tonne of customers in Calgary/Edmonton that run map2 on local pump 92-94 without any problems.

thanks for the reply, the petro 94 is the good stuff, it's similar to the husky 94 i believe. we only have chevron 94 and apparently it's not much better than shell v-power 91.

On pump only FBO, does map 2 or map 5 usually make more power? Wish there was some more modded BC guys around the site to see what they do. I wouldn't really want to run meth on a daily driver. I'd probably use chevron 94, but it's been proven to be worse than the US 92. If that's the case, i wonder if i could even run map 2? I'd like to make as close to 400 on pump gas as possible with what gas we have available. Although, i don't think alberta has any better options than BC has.

You can run map2 on 92 octane..

The difference in map2 and map5 depends on a lot of variables so best to datalog both and see what your car boosts.

Ok, a little tweak of a heat shield and the car was back to normal (no vibration).

That being said, these VRSF 3" downpipes coupled with my BMW PE is simply too loud for my liking. Will be removing and selling in the Calgary area. If anyone wants a slightly used set with less than 300 Km's of use shoot me a PM.
