Special spark plug tool for e92?

Long story short the spark plugs on my e92 need to be changed. I was speaking to a friend of mine and he said if i wanted to do it myself that their is a special tool i would need to take out the spark plugs. Does anyone have one i could borrow so i can do this repair? im willing to compensate. Also what are the best kinda of spark plugs to buy for my car. BOSCH?

My friend and I changed the spark plugs on his 2007 328i e90 sedan with common wrenches and sockets. No special tool was used. It was a little time consuming but that's about it. He had the factories spark plugs (bosch) but when we went to the dealer for the plugs (which are NGK now) they wanted $23 each. So... He went to autozone and bought the denso iridium for $7.50 each.

The spark plug has a star pattern bolt and you need a slim profile socket to get to it.
I just did mine like 2 weeks ago. Bought the Bosch plugs at $11.50 from BMS. You can get them at Autozone too ($12.99 IIRC). Very simple job, all you need is some long extentions and the right socket. Took me probably 30 minutes and I installed the oil catch can at the same time.

ETA: This applies to 335's, slow cars might be different.

just grind down the end of a socket, its the same thing because the edge of it needs to be thinner to fit down in there to get around the spark plug, a regular socket will be to thick around the edge to fit. the socket itself is around 48 dollars so id just grind one down if you can.

The Denso's are made by NGK... My BMW dealer sells the NGK with BMW logo on them ( I guess BMW changed the supplier from Bosch to NGK)

You cant go wrong with any of these spark plugs (BOSCH, NGK or DENSO) Just make sure they are iridium and have the proper gap. Im about to change my cars too soon and I'm going to go with the NGK (personal choice).

recommend buying oem bosch off ebay. I bought a set for like $74 shipped. I'm sure someone can lend you the tool. You just want to make sure you use a torque wrench and torque down to spec, you don't want to over tighten them and have the threads break.

there is a do it yourself on this forum, it's super easy, took me maybe 30 minutes to do, highly recommend doing it on your own to save money on something so easy.

Get the special tool from BMS.

Its cheap and has a magnet in it so you dont drop the sparkplug when you are bringing it up.

Nothing Wrong with Bosch.... But OEM now are NGK (PLZFR6A-11S) no longer BOSCH. BMW switch spark plugs supplier.

for the N-54 engine, the plugs come pre-gapped to spec. Not meant to be adjusted.

SORRY.... The info I gave you is for the NON-TURBO E90 with the N52 engine. You have the 335i TURBO engine diff. part number and diff spark plugs than NON-TURBO E90.
