Has anyone tried BMWhat

I have an OBD2 scanner and Talk Pro and whilst it's interesting to see engine & catalyst temp etc it doesn't seem to read the ECU, but I came across BMWhat which looks interesting and far more comprehensive, but not cheap. Has anyone used it?

BMWhat Description (From Play

Advanced car diagnostic App for BMW cars

The only BMW specific diagnostic tool for Android!

With this app you can read out BMW fault codes (BMW DTC's) like the experts.

While OBD Readers are limited to a small number of electronic control units (ECUs) and even a smaller number of fault codes, this app reads out practically all compatible ECUs.

Normally this is only possible with very expensive expert equipment.

Haven't got any experience of BMWhat, but I see there's a Lite, free version you can use to check connection etc before shelling out for the full version. Might give you a decent taste of what the full version can do.

So is this just a diagnostic app? Doesn't look like it displays various temps/data like the Torque app?

I got the iPhone version first - which is a diag app with now some codings. Since I also wanted the engine values I gut myself the Android version recently. And with this one I can get to practically every single engine detail value I ever dreamed of.

Check this
and go to around 1:50

Coding capabilities is a bit generic isn't it? What does that entail in real terms? Folding mirrors on door lock, adding new kit, registering a battery?

From what I can gather reading the website there are coding files you download within the app and install depending what you want to code might order a cable and give the app a whirl from the Android Black market and if I like it purchase the app.
