Few Technical questions

Guys,

Two quick questions;
1- When you add spacers, what happens to the locking bolts?
Do you buy longer locking bolts as well? If you do, I guess you have to buy all 4's.
Any pointer on this?

2- Sometime ago somebody posted a link to a can of spray which helps to reduce the rattles from door window surrounding foams/ inserts?

Has anybody got a link handy?

Thanks.

You would have to buy all 4 longer locking wheel nuts, some spacer sets come with the bolts and a set of lockers too.

You guys are super quick. Thanks for the response.

My front wheels are without spacers, so will those 40mm bolts fit on the front without spacers?

Makkan,I wouldn't fit them to the fronts without spacers as they'll prob poke too far through the drive flange and foul something/lock the wheel.prob just use them on the rears with spacers only and use the standard fronts.

I would refrain from using Gummi Plefge. The stuff is apparently not good for seals on the long term (one of the reasons why BMW don't use it any more). Parts department do sell something else for it (forgot its name but costs about £23.00).

This is correct:it's a seal conditioner to cure rattles etc, looks like an alcoholic hair gel!

Yep that's the one.

Another thing i'd recommend using is bog standard Vaseline. Thats what I use to keep seals and foams quiet. It lasts a bloody long time. You can also use Autoglym vinyl and rubber care but I found you have to regularly reapply it.
